Position Summary:
We are seeking an Application and Integration Architect who will be responsible for defining, managing, and evolving the enterprise application and integration architecture. This role ensures that the organization's diverse portfolio of business and custom applications and integration platforms (e.g., MVC, MVVM, .NET APIs, REACT, SQL Server, Power Platform, Costpoint, Cornerstone, etc.) are aligned with business goals, scalable, secure, and interoperable. The architect will collaborate with business stakeholders, technical leads, and support teams to design and govern application and integration standards, patterns, and roadmaps.
This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid schedule with the expectation of 3 days per week in our Chicago office, and 2 days remote from home.

Key Responsibilities:
Architecture Strategy & Governance
- Define and maintain the enterprise application and integration architecture strategy.
- Establish architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices for application development and integration.
- Lead architecture reviews and ensure alignment with enterprise goals.
- Review these scope items and methodologies with other Architects and Stakeholders in Architecture Review Borad.
- Manage the full lifecycle of 100+ applications spanning enterprise, point solutions, and integration platforms.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive Application Inventory Catalog, incorporating input from stakeholders, subject matter experts, enterprise standards, and software assets.
- Conduct application evaluations to identify redundancies, streamline the portfolio, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure all applications align with supported technology stacks and remain on current, secure versions.
- Align application assessments with Sargent & Lundy's evolving business objectives and technology strategy.
- Design and manage integration patterns using APIs, Power Automate Flows, and other middleware.
- Ensure secure, scalable, and reliable data flows between systems like Costpoint, Power Platform, and custom apps.
- Lead the consolidation and modernization of integration services.
- Partner with business stakeholders, cross-functional teams, product owners, developers, UX/UI designers, and support teams to understand requirements and translate them into architectural solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams. With software development and methodologies for best solution.
- Facilitate cross-functional architecture discussions and decision-making.
- Maintain architecture documentation, data flow diagrams, and system interdependencies.
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in application architecture, integration design, or enterprise architecture.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft tech stack: REACT, .NET, C# programming language, SQL Server, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate)
- Integration tools and patterns (APIs, ETL, middleware)
- Enterprise platforms like Costpoint, Cornerstone, SharePoint
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Oracle).
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills. - Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman) a plus.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, platforms (Azure DevOps, GitHub), CI/CD pipelines, and Test-driven Development.
- Knowledge of data governance and master data management.
