The Business Intelligence Data Analyst supports the continuous improvement of data products and reporting tools by delivering actionable insights, rigorous QA processes, clear documentation, and detailed requirements gathering. This role plays a critical part in ensuring data accuracy, shaping the evolution of internal and customer-facing data assets, and supporting strategic decision-making across the organization. This position will be focused on supporting the Data Engineering & Business Intelligence teams in developing more robust tools & systems to answer complex questions in all domains of healthcare.
Essential Job Duties:
Analyze large, complex datasets to extract insights that inform data product enhancements and operational improvements.
Conduct quality assurance testing on reports, dashboards, and data pipelines to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Collaborate with clinical & operational process owners, data developers and other internal stakeholders to validate data inputs, outputs, and transformations.
Translate analyses into clear, documented requirements and contribute to product roadmap prioritization.
Write and maintain thorough data documentation, including data dictionaries, source mappings, and transformation logic.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), product usage metrics, and surface trends and anomalies.
Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to gather feedback on product usability and satisfaction.
Assist in data modeling and reporting schemas that optimize for performance and clarity.
Clearly articulate complex concepts in a concise and understandable manner whenever possible.
Plan, execute, and analyze Data Quality tests to evaluate the impact of changes or new features.
Triage reports of errors or issues with datasets. Create routine task & improvement tickets for Data Engineers & Business Intelligence Developers.
Required Qualifications:
Strong Experience in Healthcare Data Analytics, Clinical Workflows, or Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management.
Proficiency in using analytical tools and techniques to gather, analyze, and interpret data.
Strong experience with BI/reporting visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar).
Ability to design, document, and manage business and technical data requirements.
Experience in planning, executing, and analyzing Data Quality tests to measure the impact of product changes.
Proficiency in SQL (DML) to extract and analyze data from databases.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders, present findings, and document requirements.
Ability to identify problems, gather relevant information, and propose practical solutions to improve product performance and user experience.
Capacity to think analytically, assess situations, and make data-driven decisions.
Skill in managing relationships with stakeholders, understanding their needs, and balancing competing priorities.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, developers, and marketers.
Flexibility to navigate in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, adjusting priorities as needed.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and precision in data analysis, documentation, and requirement gathering.
