Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Network Systems Programmer with expertise in z/OS to join our team. This 100% remote position offers the opportunity to work remotely, providing top-level support in mainframe network systems. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience working with Netview, SNA/VTAM, Telnet, and TCP/IP protocols within a mainframe environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary expert in mainframe network systems, providing support and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Participate in the upgrade process of z/OS from version 2.3 to 2.5, ensuring smooth transition and optimal performance.
  • Utilize expertise in mainframe network technologies, including Netview, SNA/VTAM, Telnet, and TCP/IP, to maintain and enhance network infrastructure.
  • The team works predominantly with CA products, with some exposure to Broadcom solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address network-related issues and optimize performance.
  • Willingness to undergo security clearance process if placed in the role.
  • Obtain CompTIA Security + certification prior to starting and maintain certification throughout employment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Extensive experience working as a Mainframe Network Systems Programmer in a z/OS environment.
  • Proficiency in mainframe network technologies such as Netview, SNA/VTAM, Telnet, and TCP/IP.
  • Understanding of CA products and familiarity with Broadcom solutions.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
  • CompTIA Security + certification or willingness to obtain certification prior to starting.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
