Description

We are looking for an experienced Information Governance Manager to lead and enhance our organization's information governance and records management strategies. Based in Seattle, Washington, this hybrid role offers an opportunity to work closely with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to the development of streamlined processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing information systems, compliance, and data protection, ideally within the legal or detail-oriented industries.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement comprehensive information governance frameworks to align with organizational goals and compliance standards.

Oversee document management systems such as iManage and NetDocuments, ensuring they operate efficiently and meet user needs.

Manage records management tools like File Trail and Iron Mountain to ensure proper retention, storage, and disposal of records.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to educate and train staff on information governance policies and best practices.

Utilize tools like Microsoft Office 365, Power BI, and Tableau to analyze, report, and manage data effectively.

Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

Ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations, providing guidance on best practices to minimize risks.

Address e-discovery requirements using tools such as Concordance and other relevant platforms.

Serve as a subject matter expert, simplifying complex technical topics for non-technical audiences.

Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously refine governance strategies.

PTO is accrued at a rate of 20 days per year. 10 paid holidays, 3 floating holidays, 5 extended sick leave days, and 5 paid health days. Unused PTO does roll-over each year (275 hour cap).

Requirements

Must haves:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of experience in Information governance, records management, related
  • 3+ years of managing high achieving teams
  • Ability to explain complex and/or technical topics relating to information governance to those who have no prior knowledge of the firm's systems and policies.
  • Knowledge of key technology tools, including document management systems, records management systems, the Microsoft 365 platform, Google G Suite, etc.
  • Broad knowledge of records, information management, and data protection laws, regulations, and best practices.


Nice to haves:
  • Familiarity with the business of law.
  • Information Governance Professional (IGP), Certified Records Manager (CRM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Privacy Professional (CIPP)
  • Familiarity with technical concepts relevant to cloud computing environments.
  • Python is a plus
