Senior Software Engineering Manager

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to support our B-52J RMP Software team located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization.
Boeing is seeking an experienced Software Manager to lead a team of software engineers in developing modernization and modification software for the B-52J. Working closely with hardware engineering, systems engineering, and program management to deliver high-value capabilities. You will ensure compliance with Boeing Software Best Practices, Enterprise Software Engineering policies, and BDS requirements, while also supporting the Cost Account Manager and Integrated Product Team leadership in executing statement of work for the B-52. The ideal candidate has a strong background in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), excels in technical leadership, and is an engaging, motivating people manager. Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), CI/CD environments, and automated testing is essential.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance for which the US Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance (Post-Start).

Position Responsibilities:
- Manages employees and performs oversight of first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering
- Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on program business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
- Identifies opportunities to support enterprise initiatives and effectively manage risk on the program
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products / product line management and processes
- Management and direction for software portions of Programs, Processes, Projects and other K-Level managers for Agile software teams that provide support to existing and future programs, including new business, proposal development, and IAD/IRAD activities.
- Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics.
- Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards over programs.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

- 7+ years of experience with software development for avionics software
- 3+ years of experience as the technical leader or manager of a software development or product deployment team
- In-depth knowledge of the entire SDLC process including software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Working knowledge of the Scale Agile Framework (SAFe) and Agile software development methodologies
- Experience with real-time embedded multiprocessor programs and/or user interface development programs
- Familiarity with DevOps practices such as continuous integration and continuous deployment, configuration management, security analysis and cloud computing
- Familiarity with developing commercial or military safety critical software (DO-178B/C, MIL-HDBK-516C)
- Experience working in an IPT structure as part of a larger cross-functional product team
