Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Manual QA Tester with strong POS (Point of Sale) testing experience to support retail application testing. This role requires hands-on manual testing, solid understanding of retail workflows, and the ability to work onsite with business and technical teams.
This is not an automation role. Candidates without real POS testing experience should not be submitted.
Responsibilities
Perform manual testing of POS applications used in retail environments
Test end-to-end retail workflows including:
Sales transactions
Returns, refunds, exchanges
Discounts, promotions, coupons
Cash, card, and digital payment processing
Validate POS integrations with backend systems (inventory, pricing, tax, payments)
Execute test cases, regression testing, and smoke testing
Identify, log, and track defects using defect management tools
Work closely with developers, business users, and store operations teams
Validate fixes and perform re-testing
Support UAT and production validation when required
Required Skills & Experience
4+ years of Manual QA testing experience
Strong hands-on experience testing POS systems (retail domain is mandatory)
Deep understanding of retail business processes
Experience with test case creation and execution
Solid defect tracking and reporting experience
Ability to work onsite and communicate clearly with stakeholders
Attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced environments
Nice to Have
Experience with POS hardware (barcode scanners, receipt printers, cash drawers)
Exposure to payment gateways and transaction validation
Retail ERP or inventory system knowledge
UAT support experience
Mandatory Requirements
Local to Katy, TX or able to commute onsite
POS testing experience is non-negotiable
