Working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

The primary work location(s) will be at 90% Remote, May be required to meet on-site in Austin, TX a few times per month. The working position is Hybrid - On Site and Telework.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Applications Architect/Software Development Manager to lead the development and maintenance of multiple enterprise applications simultaneously. This role involves managing a blended team of full-time and contracted developers, applying SDLC best practices, and ensuring alignment with business goals. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in .NET technologies and relational databases, along with excellent leadership and communication skills to collaborate with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage multiple software development teams across enterprise applications
  • Oversee the full software development life cycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering to deployment and support
  • Building robust, custom business applications from the ground-up/scratch
  • Collaborate with program area stakeholders to understand business needs and help translate them into technical solutions
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance in various technologies such as .NET and relational SQL databases
  • Experience building and leading development of ETL, data-centralization for reporting consumption
  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with contracted development resources
  • Ensure code quality, security, and performance through code reviews and best practices
  • Develop and track project plans, timelines, and budgets
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in government or education industries
  • Understanding of cloud platforms, including but not limited to Power BI

Required Skills/Experience

  • Enterprise Software Development Life Cycle
  • Strong hands-on experience with .NET (C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core)
  • Excellent, effective communication with customer and design ideas with teams, verbally & written
  • Estimating work with accurate timelines and resource requirements
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum and traditional SDLC methodologies
  • Proficient in ETL and relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL)
  • Proven experience managing both full-time and contract developers
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (e.g., Jenkins, Bit Bucket)
  • Leadership or management role overseeing enterprise development teams
  • Government or Education enterprise solutions
