Position Overview:
We are seeking a Cloud Data Messaging Services Specialist to join our team focused on delivering scalable, resilient, and decoupled cloud-native platform services. This role centers around technologies such as Google Cloud Platform Pub/Sub and Confluent Kafka Cloud, supporting modern applications within the new Ford Standard app hosting environment.
The ideal candidate will be well-versed in cloud messaging technologies and their integration with services like Cloud Run, Dataflow, and other Google Cloud Platform-native tools. You will play a key role in enabling real-time data processing, event-driven architectures, and automation across infrastructure and application layers.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform. Build and maintain highly scalable and available cloud infrastructures. Implement and enhance Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices. Develop and integrate automation for service management and operations. Enable real-time data processing and event-driven architectures. Collaborate with application DevOps teams and product vendors. Create automated processes to simplify adoption and improve developer experience. Identify and evaluate emerging data streaming technologies and patterns. Maintain Terraform modules and documentation for provisioning Pub/Sub, Kafka, and networking configurations. Enhance CI/CD pipelines by automating delivery processes and improving quality gates. Monitor logs, metrics, and alerts to proactively resolve infrastructure issues. Ensure cloud systems are secure, efficient, and compliant with best practices. Lead technical resolution of critical incidents, coordinating across teams. Implement and test disaster recovery and backup strategies. Maintain compliance with industry regulations and ensure documentation is up to date. Recommend improvements for availability, performance, observability, and supportability.

- Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripting
- CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Cloud Build, Tekton
- Authentication & Authorization: OAuth2, Active Directory, LDAP, ADFS, SSL
- Monitoring tools: Dynatrace, Grafana
- Networking fundamentals: NAT, firewalls, routing, load balancing
- Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM)
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations (including weekends and after hours)
- Highly organized and detail-oriented

Preferred Experience:
- 5+ years in IT Operations and Infrastructure Automation / DevOps
- 2+ years working with cloud data messaging services (Google Cloud Platform Pub/Sub, Kafka)
- 2+ years in public cloud or on-prem cloud automation
- Experience with Java, Spring, Node.js (for code-level troubleshooting)
- Experience with Chatbot development
- Familiarity with Agentic AI, ADK, MCP
