Job Description:
Pay Range: $65hr - $70hr
  • The Cerner EHR Specialist leads the strategy, optimization, configuration, and support of Cerner applications across clinical and operational workflows.
  • This role requires deep expertise in multiple Cerner modules, strong technical skills, and the ability to align EHR capabilities with organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for the EHR system aligned with organizational goals.
  • Demonstrate advanced expertise in key Cerner modules, including PowerChart, CPOE, Ambulatory, FirstNet, Clinical Documentation, ePrescribe, PathNet, RadNet, PharmNet, SurgiNet, ProFile, and CCL.
  • Lead technical efforts related to integration, database management, infrastructure, and Cerner Command Language scripting.
  • Utilize HL7 and FHIR standards for data exchange and ensure interoperability.
  • Lead EHR-related projects including implementations, defining scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to analyze workflows and implement best practices.
  • Ensure data accuracy, system integrity, and compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.
  • Configure templates, forms, order sets, and user interfaces within the EHR system.
  • Develop training materials and conduct sessions for clinical staff and end-users.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and Meaningful Use.
  • Generate advanced reports, analyze system performance, and recommend improvements.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Advanced expertise across multiple Cerner modules.
  • Strong technical skills in system integration, database management, network configuration, and CCL scripting.
  • In-depth knowledge of HL7 and FHIR standards.
  • Ability to lead complex EHR projects.
  • Strong workflow analysis and optimization skills.
  • Understanding of clinical processes and regulatory requirements.
Experience:
  • Extensive experience working with Cerner EHR systems.
  • Experience leading EHR implementations or major system enhancements.
  • Hands-on experience configuring and optimizing Cerner modules.
Should Have:
  • Experience developing training materials for clinical teams.
  • Exposure to performance analytics and EHR reporting.
Skills:
  • Technical proficiency in Cerner applications and interfaces.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to understand clinical workflows and translate needs into EHR configurations.
Qualification and Education:
  • Relevant bachelor s degree or equivalent experience in healthcare, IT, or related disciplines.
