Job Description:

The Desktop Support and Field Engineer will deliver comprehensive technical support across both office and field environments. This hybrid role involves providing hands-on support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment. The ideal candidate is adaptable, solution-driven, and comfortable operating in dynamic, fast-paced settings.

Responsibilities:

Field Operations & Desktop Support:

  • Provide IT desktop support services at HERRC field sites

  • Perform break/fix tasks (e.g., laptops, printers, badging systems)

  • Respond to user service requests and resolve incidents

  • Support field operations with equipment setup and troubleshooting

  • Conduct hardware support and maintenance, including imaging and updates

  • Manage asset inventory and maintain equipment records

  • Handle pickup and delivery of hardware and supplies

  • Assist with warehouse organization and inventory tracking

  • Maintain equipment and ensure readiness for deployment

  • Utilize VMS for tracking and managing field services

Mandatory Skills and Experience:

Candidates without the following qualifications will not be considered.

  • 8+ years of experience providing IT and desktop support

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows OS, Office 365, and commonly used business applications

  • Experience with Active Directory, endpoint management, and ticketing systems

  • Ability to lift and transport hardware and equipment (up to 50 lbs)

  • Valid driver s license and willingness to travel to remote or emergency field locations

  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks

  • Comfortable working both independently and under pressure
