Job Description:
The Desktop Support and Field Engineer will deliver comprehensive technical support across both office and field environments. This hybrid role involves providing hands-on support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment. The ideal candidate is adaptable, solution-driven, and comfortable operating in dynamic, fast-paced settings.
Responsibilities:
Field Operations & Desktop Support:
Provide IT desktop support services at HERRC field sites
Perform break/fix tasks (e.g., laptops, printers, badging systems)
Respond to user service requests and resolve incidents
Support field operations with equipment setup and troubleshooting
Conduct hardware support and maintenance, including imaging and updates
Manage asset inventory and maintain equipment records
Handle pickup and delivery of hardware and supplies
Assist with warehouse organization and inventory tracking
Maintain equipment and ensure readiness for deployment
Utilize VMS for tracking and managing field services
Mandatory Skills and Experience:
Candidates without the following qualifications will not be considered.
8+ years of experience providing IT and desktop support
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows OS, Office 365, and commonly used business applications
Experience with Active Directory, endpoint management, and ticketing systems
Ability to lift and transport hardware and equipment (up to 50 lbs)
Valid driver s license and willingness to travel to remote or emergency field locations
Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Comfortable working both independently and under pressure
