Job Details

The Sr. Delivery Manager is responsible for influencing and facilitation of delivery of cross functional initiatives across Technology teams, product teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and consultants in the full life-cycle of the initiative or agile practices as necessary. This individual will manage multiple product teams and/or large, complex projects through discovery to delivery. This will include participating in the resourcing process, overseeing Agile and/or waterfall ceremonies, development, and delivery. The individual will also have direct responsibility for scheduling meetings, producing status updates and reporting out on post production and team metrics, if applicable.

The Sr. Delivery Manager is responsible for guiding project and / or product team members, removing obstacles, gaining consensus from the project team and stakeholders, and providing positive and developmental feedback to team members' direct managers. The individual proactively seeks to improve processes, procedures, tools, and methodology. Sr Delivery Manager is responsible for anticipating change and championing systems and processes to align with any change. This individual will play a role in training and mentoring junior delivery managers or contractors on the approach and skills needed for their duties. Product/Project delivery and customer satisfaction will be a key metric for measuring success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Leads delivery of complex product initiatives and / or cross-functional initiatives including business stakeholders, lead and supporting Technology teams, product teams, creative teams, vendors, and consultants through all phases of the project life cycle
  • Responsible for facilitating requirements gathering for technology solutions, and effectively guiding resources to achieve goals
  • Responsible for facilitating Agile team ceremonies and effectively guiding resources to achieve goals
  • Responsible for adhering to the current project and/or product management methodology while influencing best practices, process improvements, and procedures
  • Responsible for all dimensions of delivery (Scope, schedule and resources) and applies tools and techniques based on type of work e.g. roadmaps, schedules, ceremonies, methodology guidelines and templates.
  • Serve as a primary problem solver for any issues, roadblocks, and risks; maintaining responsibility for their resolution. Demonstrate servant leadership with the teams.
  • Effectively create and deliver presentations and reports to management team, communicating project and/or product status
  • Drive the decision making process amongst stakeholders, ensuring project/product needs and solution options are presented and understood

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to communicate with and influence a variety of audiences including project sponsors, product managers, Technology engineers / developers, business analysts, business partners, stakeholders, and senior management
  • Must have strong cross-functional teamwork skills
  • Ability to observe business situations, recognize roadblocks, and deliver solutions
  • Ability to influence and indirectly manage team members to meet project and/or product deliverables
  • Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and projects while consistently meeting deadlines with accuracy
  • Ability to lead, partner with and challenge peer groups
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; able to identify areas of improvement and make sound recommendations to solve problems
  • Effective at handling multiple concurrent large projects
  • Understands and champions, coaches and mentors on Agile practices where appropriate
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent job related experience
  • 5+ years practicing/heavy involvement
  • Technology Experience
  • Specialties: Agile, Lean, Scrum, Kanban, waterfall

Mandatory Skills:
The Candidate should be: Able to drive and execute work regardless of methodology used (Agile or Waterfall or blend) Comfortable working in the gray A self-starter (This is a new team, so they will need help developing/refining ceremonies, methodologies, artifacts, best practices.) Comfortable with communication at all levels and in spaces where they don't have all the answers Able to work with the team/leadership to define success, measure results, etc.

Desired Skills:
Preferred but not required: Familiarity with the Data/ Data Engineering/ Data Science / Machine Learning (Understanding the Technology will be helpful) Knowing how to manage, influence, and create frameworks and processes that support CICD workflows and create framework for that would be helpful.
