Overview of the Integrated Fighter Group Flight Test Operations Team: This position is within the Flight Test Operations team, a part of the Test and Evaluation organization. The Flight Test Operations team is responsible for Flight Test Project Management from the start of a program, to planning aircraft modifications with Flight Test Control Engineers, all the way to developing and executing Flight Test Plans with our Flight Test Engineers. Job Summary: The successful candidate for the Aeronautical Engineering Associate Manager acts as manager 50% of the time and Flight Test Control Engineer (FTCE) the other 50% of the time on the F-16 platform. The duties of the manager will include, but not limited to, earned value management, scheduling, staffing, and direct report check-ins. Your role as an FTCE will include coordinating all aspects of modifications on assigned aircraft. Identify the origin of the mod (T-2, Advanced Development Programs, Independent Research and Development, etc.), parts status, proposed work plan and the customer / site requirements for the mod. Arrange backshop, Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI) support, and coordinate or solve all issues and requirements which arise following briefing to maintenance and supervision, including revising the work plan / engineering / etc. to reflect current aircraft discrepancies which must be addressed to support the mod. Use engineering drawings, Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), Engineering Orders (EOs), Flight Test Release Orders (FTROs), Flight Configuration Records (FCRs), etc., to write clear, easy to understand, step-by-step instructions for shop/maintenance to accomplish mod tasks. Format instructions according to the requirements at the mod facility. Coordinate with shop to provide graphic work plan or work sequence of mod tasks. Update work plan as mod progresses to provide quick-look status. Oversee the mod personally and constantly, at the jet. Generate required GPRs and paperwork. Anticipate issues and problems by being tightly integrated with the mod originator and design team and the mod team. Be the point of contact (POC) on mods for engineering, maintenance, parts, planning, etc. when the mod executes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aeronautical engineering and project management and will be responsible for leading a team of engineers to ensure the successful execution of developmental flight test and modifications.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of engineers that support from the beginning of a program, through aircraft modification, and developing and executing Flight Test Plans.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of projects
- Oversee the development and implementation of engineering standards and best practices
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to the engineering team
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in aeronautical engineering

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- Must have experience with USG contracts, earned value management systems, and CAM duties.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Experience with F-16 avionics/mission systems and/or vehicle/utility systems.
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

Desired skills

- Working knowledge of technical orders, military flight operations, and maintenance concepts.
- Knowledge of installed aircraft systems/subsystems and support equipment.
- Fault isolation and/or problem analysis at the subsystem level.
- Good knowledge of the system/software engineering environment.
- Experience performing aircraft modifications / familiarity with USAF T2 modification process.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience in project management and team leadership

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
