Job Details

Avanciers are currently hiring for a Quality Inspection with one of our long-standing enterprise client, based in Saint Louis MO. This position offering the chance to work on impactful projects with a highly collaborative team.

 

Job Role: Quality Inspection

Location: Saint Louis MO

Open Shifts:

1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist supervisors and managers with follow-up checks on quality issues.
  • Obtain and evaluate samples to ensure they meet company specifications.
  • Perform random audits of stamped parts and lamination.
  • Conduct final audits of outgoing products for quality compliance.
  • Perform Epstein testing on raw materials and for furnace monitoring.
  • Assist in the creation and documentation of processes, control plans, and work instructions.
  • Use precision measuring equipment (micrometers, gauges, calipers, etc.).
  • Learn to write and modify VMM/CMM programs for detailed product analysis.
  • Learn basic statistical analysis and apply it to quality data.
  • Execute laboratory procedures such as calibration and metallographic analysis.
  • Utilize access databases to monitor and manage non-conforming material.
  • Rework non-conforming material when necessary.
  • Participate in internal ISO audits and First Article Inspections.
  • Attend off-site training and pursue certifications as required.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Training & Certification Requirements:

  • Must obtain Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification (provided by company).
  • Must obtain Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification under ASQ guidelines within 2 years of hire.

Essential Functions:

  • Understand and follow all company safety policies and PPE requirements.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Regularly grip, push/pull, bend, and occasionally reach above shoulders.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Use various tools and equipment such as:
  • Electric chain hoists
  • Pneumatic tools
  • Hydraulic lift tables
  • Pallet jacks
  • Read and interpret blueprints, and write programs for VMM.
  • Operate precision measuring equipment (micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, etc.).
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
  • Work daily and weekend overtime as needed (including short-notice OT).
