Position Overview:
The New York State Department of Labor is seeking an experienced Software Architect Expert to guide architectural activities and implement enterprise-grade solutions. The ideal candidate will provide leadership in infrastructure design, high-availability configurations, and service-oriented architecture (SOA) implementation to support complex application environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and implement high availability, fault-tolerant infrastructure solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues in complex system implementations.
Develop and enforce SOA design standards and best practices, including naming conventions, deployment strategies, and integration models.
Design and implement batch processing frameworks.
Build services that wrap third-party applications for content storage, retrieval, archiving, and management in a SOA environment.
Utilize IBM SOA tools including:
WebSphere Business Modeler (WBM)
WebSphere Process Server (WPS) / Business Process Manager (BPM)
WebSphere Integration Developer (WID) / IBM Integration Designer (IID)
Rational Software Architect (RSA)
Develop Business Process Execution Language (BPEL) workflows and orchestrations.
Architect high availability environments using IBM BPM 7.5 and IID 7.5.
Implement message routing and data transformation using IBM ESB tools such as:
WebSphere Message Broker (WMB)
DataPower
Design workflow services accessible across multiple business domains.
Utilize ORM tools such as JPA and Hibernate.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Deep understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles.
Proven experience in infrastructure planning and integration for large-scale systems.
Expertise with IBM middleware stack and business process automation.
Hands-on experience with enterprise integration patterns and messaging architectures.
Strong grasp of Java EE technologies and object-relational mapping (ORM) tools.
