Role: Senior Project Manager Salesforce (Marketing Cloud)
Location: Houston, TX (On-Site)
Employment Type: Contract (6 months)
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager with a strong background in Salesforce and deep expertise in the Marketing Cloud module to lead enterprise-level CRM and digital engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate will combine technical understanding of the Salesforce ecosystem with strategic project management skills to drive marketing automation, customer engagement, and data-driven campaigns across the organization.
As the on-site lead in Houston, TX, you will oversee cross-functional teams, coordinate with business stakeholders, and ensure seamless integration of Salesforce Marketing Cloud with core systems. You will play a key role in aligning marketing strategy with platform capabilities and ensuring project delivery excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery
- Lead end-to-end implementation of Salesforce projects, emphasizing Marketing Cloud (Journey Builder, Email Studio, Automation Studio, Mobile Studio, and Advertising Studio).
- Develop detailed project charters, roadmaps, and schedules while managing scope, timelines, and budgets.
- Drive the full project lifecycle: discovery, requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-launch optimization.
- Establish and enforce PMO standards using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models as appropriate.
- Monitor KPIs, budgets, and risk metrics to ensure delivery within time and cost constraints.
- Stakeholder & Team Leadership
- Serve as the primary liaison between business leaders, marketing, IT, and Salesforce development teams.
- Coordinate on-site and offshore resources, ensuring strong communication and alignment across all project phases.
- Lead executive steering committee updates and weekly stakeholder meetings.
- Mentor junior project managers and guide technical teams in best practices for project execution.
Salesforce Marketing Cloud & CRM Strategy
- Partner with marketing leaders to design and optimize customer journeys and campaign automation workflows.
- Oversee integration of Marketing Cloud with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and enterprise data systems (e.g., ERP, CDP, analytics).
- Support segmentation, personalization, and Einstein AI analytics for enhanced marketing performance.
- Governance, Quality, & Reporting
- Implement release management, version control, and documentation processes.
- Track key project metrics such as velocity, utilization, and delivery quality.
- Provide executive dashboards and progress reports to leadership teams.
- Champion continuous improvement through lessons learned and post-implementation reviews.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 10+ years of project management experience, with at least 3 years leading Salesforce projects (Marketing Cloud focus strongly preferred).
- Strong knowledge of CRM and marketing automation systems, data models, and API integrations.
- Proven ability to manage large cross-functional projects (> $1M budgets) with multiple vendors and business units.
- Hands-on experience with Agile or hybrid project management frameworks.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred:
- Salesforce Certifications (one or more):
- Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Consultant
- Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Administrator
- Salesforce Project Manager or PMP Certification
- Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud, Tableau CRM, or Customer Data Platforms (CDPs).
- Prior background in energy, industrial, or enterprise technology environments is a plus.
