Job Details

Title: Electrical Validation Engineer

Location: Mossville, IL | Onsite

Schedule -Tuesday-Thursday and Monday/Friday can be remote

Duration: 6-12+ Months

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with machine systems teams to establish converter requirements for e-powertrain
  • Perform analysis and evaluation needed to select best supplier option.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and system's teams to develop production components from requirements definition to validation completion.
  • Support NTI & NPI programs: communication with NTI/NPI leads; prepare and present design and gateway reviews
  • Collaboration with CAT China team for electrical design, verification & validation plans, functional evaluation.
  • Play an active role in supplier evaluation, selection and development some limited travel will be required
  • Execute and support electrical commissioning and testing on purchased components
  • Support APQP activities on purchased components in collaboration with suppliers
  • Document and resolve field issues
  • Procurement, inventory management, and shipment of components
  • Stay up to date with the latest advances and market trends in e-powertrain DC converters and inverters

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Electrical Engineering degree
  • Master's degree with 4 years' experience
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in product development
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Previous product development experience (design / analysis / validation)
  • Power Electronics design and development experience
  • Basic understanding of e-powertrain (electric drive) system and components

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with electric drive systems and/or components.
  • Hands-on experience with power electronics converters development
  • Strong communication skills especially with suppliers or business partners
  • Self-starter with strong technical leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through complex assignments
  • Experience with quality tools including FMEA, APQP & PPAP
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) process
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Experience in power electronics component testing and validation.
