Job Description Overview
The Salesforce Project Manager will serve as the primary engagement lead for all Salesforce-related initiatives under the San Diego Unified Port District contract. This individual will oversee project delivery across multiple functional areas, ensuring scope, quality, timelines, and compliance align with the District's requirements. Acting as the central point of contact between Abacus, client stakeholders, and delivery teams, the Project Manager will translate business objectives into executable project plans while ensuring full adherence to contractual SLAs and quality standards.
Experience and Certifications (preffered)
12 15 years of progressive IT project management experience, including 7+ years leading Salesforce programs within enterprise or public-sector environments.
Proven track record managing multi-cloud Salesforce deployments (Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Platform).
PMP, PMI-ACP, or Certified Scrum Master certification required.
Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Administrator or Salesforce Project Manager (Trailhead) preferred.
Experience managing teams of developers, administrators, and functional consultants across hybrid delivery models.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead overall Salesforce project governance, ensuring adherence to agreed deliverables, scope, and timelines.
Manage full project lifecycle including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
Translate client requirements into detailed work plans with defined milestones and measurable outcomes.
Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective sessions to drive continuous improvement.
Coordinate cross-functional teams (development, QA, training, and support) to ensure seamless execution.
Maintain transparent communication with project stakeholders, providing weekly status updates, budget tracking, and performance dashboards.
Identify and mitigate risks proactively, maintaining a detailed risk register and escalation plan.
Oversee compliance with project management standards and client-specific security protocols.
Ensure post-implementation reviews are completed and lessons learned are documented for continuous improvement.
Preferred Experience |
Demonstrated experience delivering Salesforce modernization, integration, and workflow optimization projects within government or public entities.
Familiarity with change management, training delivery, and end-user adoption strategies for large-scale public-sector deployments.
Proven ability to manage vendor coordination, data migration, and multi-tenant architecture environments.
Strong understanding of Salesforce licensing, DevOps pipeline management, and system lifecycle maintenance.
