Bloomberg Intelligence ("BI") provides comprehensive views on industries and its key constituents and, combined with the power of the Bloomberg Professional service, gives you unsurpassed depth and breadth at the sector, industry and company levels. Bloomberg Intelligence offers valuable written analysis on 135 industries and 2,200 companies, industry data, and interactive charting and functions from a team of independent experts, giving investment and corporate professionals deep insights into where crucial industries stand today and where they may be heading next. BI Analysts review, check and curate company reported, industry and government data into comprehensive and logically arranged dashboards to support their own research and to provide Bloomberg Terminal users a platform to view and analyze the data as well.
We're looking for an experienced Equity Analyst to join our Financials research team, with a dedicated focus on Business Development Companies (BDCs) and Asset Managers. This is your opportunity to join a high-impact, collaborative group that's helping define how the market thinks about one of the most dynamic corners of the financial sector.
As part of the role, you'll dive into the business models, performance, and strategic direction of key players in the space. You'll be creating timely, well-reasoned research that helps Bloomberg clients make smarter, faster decisions-and you'll be doing it alongside some of the sharpest minds in financial markets.
What You'll Be Trusted To Do:
You'll use your sector expertise to produce regular, high-quality research that resonates with institutional investors and corporate users alike. This includes tracking company developments, identifying broader macro trends, and managing coverage during the earnings cycle with compelling previews and takeaways.
Beyond writing, you'll collaborate across time zones and disciplines-partnering with analysts and strategists in New York, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Singapore. You'll also spend time engaging directly with industry professionals, from investors and IR teams to C-suite executives, to deepen insights and sharpen your perspective.
Internally, you'll work closely with Bloomberg's Global Data teams to ensure that our proprietary datasets are clean, complete, and cutting-edge. You'll play a critical role in both maintaining and evolving the quality of the data that underpins our research platform.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
To thrive in this role, you'll bring +7 years of experience in Equity Research, particularly in Financials. You've likely worked on the buy side or sell side and have a solid grasp of BDCs, asset managers, and the broader financial ecosystem. You're comfortable parsing financial statements, performing in-depth quantitative analysis, and translating those insights into crisp, readable takeaways.
You'll need to be a strong communicator, both in writing and presentation. This role also demands intellectual independence, curiosity, and the ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. A Bachelor's degree is required, and we'd strongly prefer candidates with a CFA designation, MBA, or another advanced degree.
