We're seeking a Chief Critical Infrastructure Engineer to take charge of operational excellence across facility systems that power enterprise-scale digital infrastructure. This is a high-impact leadership role requiring deep technical expertise, strategic planning, and a commitment to 100% uptime.
About the Role:
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical infrastructure of a large-scale data center, ensuring uninterrupted operations for internal and external customers. This position demands operational rigor, innovation in process development, and strong cross-functional leadership in facilities engineering.
100% onsite in Ashburn, VA.

responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Leadership: Drive and enforce operational best practices to support mission-critical facility systems, including power distribution, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Standards & Documentation: Develop, implement, and continuously improve Method of Procedures (MOPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that enhance operational stability and response.
- Technical Implementation: Lead the coordination and timely delivery of infrastructure requirements for customer deployments including space, power, cooling, and network readiness.
- System Reliability: Oversee day-to-day operations to swiftly address and resolve facility issues, ensuring adherence to 100% uptime objectives.
- Performance Metrics: Generate and present regular reporting on key operational KPIs, system health, capacity planning, and incident tracking.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a technical authority in customer integration meetings and facility tours, communicating infrastructure capabilities with clarity and precision.
- Team Leadership: Supervise a team of technical staff and vendors, instilling operational discipline while cultivating a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
qualifications:
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in critical facility operations or engineering, with a strong background in data center infrastructure management.
- Demonstrated expertise in systems including UPS, generators, CRAC units, BMS, and other essential mechanical/electrical systems.
- Proven leadership in crisis response, preventative maintenance, and systems troubleshooting.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills; capable of managing concurrent operational demands and project deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with proficiency in technical presentation and documentation.
skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience working in environments aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards.
- Familiarity with environmental and safety regulations applicable to mission-critical infrastructure environments.
- Prior supervisory experience in managing cross-functional facility teams and contractors is essential.
