Job Description
We are looking for an experienced manufacturing cost accountant to eventually develop into a broader role as Controller at CPS. This is a new position, with responsibilities currently shared among several employees and external accounting services. We use Sage Accounting but are in the process of transitioning to Epicor s fully integrated ERP system.

This role involves not only overseeing financial operations but also actively managing and participating in daily outcomes. You'll ensure the financial health of our operations and eventually lead financial planning, analysis, monthly closings, and overall financial oversight. Your expertise will directly impact our operational efficiency, financial transparency, and business success.
Initial Responsibilities
- Learning Existing Systems: Understand our current Sage Accounting system, purchasing processes, inventory, and WIP (Work in Process) practices and calculations.
- ERP Implementation: Play a key role in setting up the financial components of our new Epicor ERP system. This includes understanding our current cost structure and estimating methods, developing and tracking burden costing, and assisting with data migration.
- ERP Financial Management: Oversee daily and weekly financial activities to ensure ERP data is clean, accurate, and up to date. Develop procedures to maintain financial data integrity.
- Monthly Close Process: Lead the monthly financial close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Coordinate across departments to reconcile and report all financial data properly.
- Cash Conversion Cycle: Collaborate with Accounts Payable and Receivable to ensure timely supplier payments and customer collections. Work with operations to manage inventory effectively.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure all taxes (payroll, sales, state, and federal) are calculated and paid on time. We use a payroll and tax accounting service.
Future Responsibilities
- Collaboration with Operations: Work closely with the operations team to align financial practices with production goals and delivery timelines. Contribute to planning and actions that improve efficiency and support organizational objectives.
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business decisions. Regularly analyze financial data, evaluate performance, and work with stakeholders to drive improved financial results.
- Financial Reporting & Presentation: Collaborate with the CEO to prepare and present financials and plans to lenders and stakeholders.
