Job Details
Responsibilities
- Provide best-in-class architecture, design, and support for business and industrial networks.
- Apply expertise in network technologies, tools, routing protocols, security, and automation to deliver scalable connectivity solutions.
- Architect, design, operate, optimize, and troubleshoot complex network infrastructures.
- Analyze logs and traffic flows to identify and resolve issues (event correlation).
- Develop end-to-end network solutions by gathering technical requirements, translating them into business terms, evaluating technologies, and collaborating with customers, partners, and vendors.
- Build deep technical expertise as a specialist in connectivity, emerging as a subject matter expert (SME), influencer, and technical mentor within the team.
- Make strategic decisions on vendor selection, technology stack, and network design that influence major projects, cost models, and medium-term strategies.
- Perform lifecycle management of network components and adopt new technologies as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in network engineering with a focus on enterprise infrastructure.
- Deep understanding of network protocols (e.g., BGP), subnetting, routing, address space planning, and network security groups (NSGs).
- Experience with network components such as switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems.
- Familiarity with SD-WAN technologies and cloud integrations, preferably involving Salesforce or similar platforms.
- Desired experience with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Automation and scripting knowledge is a plus (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Ansible).
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred residency in the Houston, Greater Woodlands, or Spring, TX area (onsite only, no remote work).
- Safety-oriented mindset and strong customer service attitude.
