Job Title: Technical Business Systems Analyst

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Business Systems Analyst with a strong financial services background to lead technical projects, drive automation initiatives, and deliver innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will quickly understand legacy systems, document business processes, and collaborate with multiple business units and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution. This role requires deep knowledge of digital payment solutions, mainframe systems, workflow platforms (e.g., Appian), modern technology stacks, and reporting tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, document, and optimize business processes across multiple functional areas.
  • Quickly assess legacy systems and propose modernization strategies, automation opportunities, and integration solutions.
  • Drive end-to-end technical projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Professional Services, Product, Engineering, and Operations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for digital payment solutions and related technologies.
  • Develop and maintain detailed solution documentation, including functional specifications, workflows, and process maps.
  • Lead requirements gathering sessions and translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Support implementation strategies for new products/features and ensure smooth rollouts.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders proactively.

Technical Expertise (Required):

  • Strong understanding of digital payments (Bill Pay, P2P, A2A transfers).
  • Experience with mainframe systems, workflow tools (Appian), and API/Microservices (REST, SOAP).
  • Familiarity with ETL/BI tools (Informatica, Cognos, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Proficiency in SQL, data analysis, and system integration concepts.

Domain Expertise (Mandatory):

  • Banking and financial workflows (Retail, Commercial, Investment Banking).
  • Transaction processing systems, risk & fraud detection, and regulatory compliance (PCI-DSS, GDPR).
  • Core banking systems and fintech solutions exposure.

Reporting Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with reporting and dashboard tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Ability to design and deliver data visualization solutions for business insights.
  • Experience in creating automated reports and integrating reporting solutions with business workflows.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience in automation and process improvement projects.
  • Knowledge of packaged services and SaaS delivery models.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial services or fintech domain.
  • Proven track record in business analysis, technical solutioning, and project delivery.
  • Experience with legacy system modernization and workflow automation
