We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Environmental Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting and monitoring our facilities to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and standards. This is a permanent position that offers the opportunity to contribute to our commitment to environmental sustainability while working in a challenging and rewarding environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Inspect and monitor facilities under required state environmental programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and standards.
2. Analyze and interpret technical readings, regulations, and data related to environmental impact and compliance.
3. Prepare, review, and update environmental investigation and recommendation reports.
4. Collaborate with environmental scientists, planners, hazardous waste technicians, engineers, and other specialists to address environmental problems.
5. Advise corporate and site management on environmental regulations and their implications for the company.
6. Develop and implement environmental management systems and processes to ensure continuous improvement in environmental performance.
7. Participate in the planning and implementation of environmental training programs and initiatives.
8. Manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of environmental policies and procedures to ensure company-wide understanding and compliance.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field is required. Must be from an ABET Accredited Program
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental engineering or a related field.
3. Professional Engineer (PE) certification is desired but not a requirement.
4. Extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations and standards.
5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex technical data.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
8. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and environmental management software.
9. Commitment to promoting a culture of environmental sustainability within the organization.
10. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
