What you will do -
The Equipment Engineering Specialist will be a key member of the R&D Operations Asset Management team, based at our Salt Lake City, Utah facility. The equipment engineering specialist will be responsible for supporting the installation, qualification and ongoing support of R&D test and fabrication equipment, enabling R&D teams to accelerate the development of next-generation product portfolios.

What you will do -
The Equipment Engineering Specialist will be a key member of the R&D Operations Asset Management team, based at our Salt Lake City, Utah facility. The equipment engineering specialist will be responsible for supporting the installation, qualification and ongoing support of R&D test and fabrication equipment, enabling R&D teams to accelerate the development of next-generation product portfolios.
- Perform equipment troubleshooting and repair including extrusion systems, laser cutting systems, catheter and guidewire fabrication and test equipment
- Perform scheduled and un-scheduled maintenance of R&D Lab equipment
- R&D lab asset calibration tracking and coordination
- Generate documentation such as tool specifications for new assets
- Support equipment validations (FAT, SAT, EQ) for new equipment
- Set up and manage spare parts kanban and re-ordering system
- Support R&D lab space management including moving in/out equipment as required and managing equipment in storage
- Actively participate in project team meetings. Provide coordination & monitoring of project task execution & progress against deliverables
- Build quality into all aspects of work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.
- Use sound technical judgement in making independent decisions
- Initiate and follow change notices through to completion and implementation
- Support problem solving, root cause analysis, identify potential solutions, and evaluate them against requirements in their area of expertise
What you need:
Required-
- Two-year Technical Degree (i.e., AS, Certificate) and/or equivalent experience
- Job typically requires a minimum of 5 years of technical work experience with medical device products
- Good analytical & problem-solving skills (Minitab)
- Good written & verbal communication skills
- Use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint or other presentation software
- Proficiency with external vendor communications
- Bench fixturing / tooling support specification determination
- SME for all prototype building and test methods within team or franchise.
