Location: 100% Onsite Augusta, ME (Routine travel within 10 miles and occasional travel beyond; State vehicle provided)
Bill Rate: Maximum $36.89/hour (Firm cap)

Job Description

We are seeking a Desktop Support Technician with 3 5 years of relevant experience to provide proactive, onsite support across end-user hardware and software systems in a fast-paced government environment. This role is critical in ensuring technology assets are deployed, maintained, and retired efficiently, with a strong focus on customer service and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Set up IT equipment including laptops, docking stations, and monitors.
• Maintain accurate inventory logs for equipment tracking and asset control.
• Deliver hands-on desktop support to end users for basic technical issues and device troubleshooting.
• Participate in equipment lifecycle management, including the retirement and disposal of obsolete hardware.
• Document all support activities, resolutions, and updates in accordance with department procedures.
• Follow established quality and service delivery standards.
• Collaborate effectively within a team and participate in bi-weekly meetings and problem review sessions.
• Provide clear, timely communication and resolutions to end users' general questions regarding system usage and the IT environment.

Requirements

• Experience: 3 5 years in a desktop support or IT technician role
• Education: 4-year college degree (preferred) or equivalent professional experience
