Position: Fiber Engineer

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma,

Salary: Up to $65,000 annually, DOE. Quarterly and Annual bonus potential

Archon Resources is currently looking for a Fiber Engineer to join one of our best clients located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This is a Direct-hire opportunity with full benefits including medical, vision, dental, PTO, life, LTD, STD, 401k, and pension.

Summary: Responsible for assisting in the design and overseeing the installation of telecommunications equipment for both inside and outside plant projects across the rural US. Facilities include electronic switching and routers, point to point private networks, IP Ethernet based networks, FTTH (Fiber to the Home) or FTTB (Fiber to the Business) networks, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Support needs of team members, clients, managers, etc. in providing turnkey solutions
• Review and assist with design of telecommunication network
• Estimate costs for implementation and operation
• Keep abreast of changes in industry practices and emerging telecommunications technology by reviewing current literature, talking with colleagues, participating in education programs, attending meetings or workshops
• Inspect sites to determine physical configurations, locations, pathways, etc.
• Assist in development and review of schematics
• Assess existing facility needs for new or modified telecommunications systems
• Communicate with telecom vendors to obtain pricing and technical specifications for available hardware, software or services
• Ability to take the project from the planning process to project execution and then to closure of the project
• Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
• Consistently adheres to all company standards, policies and procedures
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
• Must be a team player and able to work with others
• Ability to accept guidance and constructive feedback from superior

Requirements:

• Analytical problem-solver with good concentration, excellent math skills
• Ability to work with others, lead the planning and implementation of a project, develop full scale project plans, assemble and coordinate project staff, plan and schedule project timelines, and track project deliverables.
• Ability to present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret reports.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence and effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, managers or groups.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Ability to write and speak effectively using appropriate conversation based on the situation; actively listen to others, ask questions to verify understanding and use tact and consideration when delivering feedback to others.
• Identify and resolve issues in a timely manner by gathering and analyzing information.
