Job Details

ASSYST is seeking an experienced IT Project Support Specialist to support our government customer based in Tallahassee, Florida.

Location: On-site in Tallahassee, Florida

Scope of Work:

  • The selected candidate will serve as part of the leadership team for the OIT PALM Program, performing a broad range of administrative and project-related tasks.
  • The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, a self-starter with strong initiative, and capable of working independently with minimal guidance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting project and program managers with documentation, facilitation, reporting, analysis, and other delivery tasks.
  • Performing administrative duties such as hiring, onboarding, separation, and annual recertifications.
  • Creating and maintaining internal documentation, SharePoint sites, and PowerAutomate workflows.
  • Managing backlogs and work items in Azure DevOps.
  • Using ServiceNow for time, configuration, and service management.
  • Preparing and maintaining documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and workflow diagrams.
  • Supporting hiring activities including resume screening, candidate evaluation, interview coordination, and onboarding logistics.
  • Coordinating staff training and tracking consultant hours to avoid overages.
  • Collaborating with other offices for procurement of staff and services.
  • Fostering a communicative and collaborative team environment.

Required Experience:

  • Analyzing situations and identifying tasks required for completion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in State Government.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, Azure DevOps (or similar Agile tools).
  • Creating and managing SharePoint sites and workflows.
  • Constructing workflow diagrams and flowcharts.
  • Onboarding and training employees.
  • Using My Florida Marketplace for tracking Purchase Orders.
  • Working on Agile teams and managing small projects.

Education:

Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. Equivalent experience may substitute for formal education.
