Mechatronics/Controls Engineer

Location: Bloomington, MN
Salary: $90,000.00 USD Annually - $120,000.00 USD Annually
Description: Our Plymouth, MN client is currently seeking a Mechatronics/Controls Engineer. This Engineering position will report to the General Manager with a dotted line to the Manager of Engineering in Australia for new product/project design projects and integration into the broader global Engineering team.

There is travel involved in this role to client installs and trouble shooting as needed.

• Relocation is provided to Plymouth, MN for the right candidate for non travel office time

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to the following):

• Demonstrate mechanical, electrical, and computer aptitude.
• Collaborate within the Engineering team on existing and new projects.
• Identify product improvements and collaborate with relevant teams to implement them.
• Assist in designing (electrical, mechanical, and/or software) and testing new equipment.
• Provide technical support to domestic and international customers and technicians.
• Travel to sites and directly engage with customers.
• Exhibit a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
• Complete necessary training courses as required by the employer.
• Utilize ticketing systems to record issues, solutions, and project progress.
• Prioritize safety in all tasks, both for oneself and for customers.
• Possess mechanical experience including assembly, hand and power tool usage, and site work.
• Electrical proficiency including multimeter usage, fault finding, reading electrical schematics, and experience with PLC systems.
• Support purchasing and procurement activities, liaising with suppliers and providing necessary documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably in Mechatronics or Controls specialization).
• Experience with mechanical and/or electrical design.
• Knowledge of engineering calculations for rotational and linear motion systems, as well as pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency in Solidworks preferred.
• Desire and ability to independently learn new concepts.
• Honest, punctual, and reliable work ethic.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work with hand tools.
• Possession of a valid driver's license for the state/country of operation is a condition of employment.
• Possession of a valid passport or eligibility to obtain one.
