Infrastructure Engineer
3-6 month+++ Project
Onsite 1-2 days per week (flexible on days)
Location is Chesterfield, VA
Will be a 3-6 month contract with the possibility of extension if the contractor can provide value in other areas of their business.
Hybrid - They want this person onsite 1/2 days a week but flexible on which days.
Bill rate dependent on experience
What they need someone to do:
This is a smaller Tech product company who has build several productsand because of growth, needs help adding some infrastructure to their company.
Main Role/responsibility (this is from a meeting with the managers):
- Build a server environment with several Windows servers running their Java applications. These all need to be run behind an IP Load Balancer that routes the traffic from their field devices to the array of servers.
- They have rented a second rack at offsite data facility and will interconnect the 2 racks, so they will probably need a managed switch in the new rack as well.
- Help them select the right servers to purchase
- Configure and install the servers
- Install and configure any required network gear.
- Set up the load balancer and make sure team knows how to manage it going forward.
- Help them transition as seamlessly as possible from their current environment to the new one.
- Help them validate that they can take servers in the array offline without affecting system availability.
