Position: Technical Business Analyst

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Acts as a partner with the business to facilitate and implement technology solutions. Responsible for writing technical database system–specific requirements that ensure solutions meet business needs and the firm's enterprise data governance standards.

Gathers, interprets, and analyzes information from written documentation and in-person discussions, including trading data and account-level trade rules for compliance.
Documents compliance rules, escalation flows, and exception-handling procedures to support regulatory requirements and financial risk controls.
Analyzes system data across multiple business lines (e.g., Brokerage, Bank, Trust) and data platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server) to trace business requirements to correct tables/fields for control reporting.
Creates detailed functional requirements (business processes, business rules, exception rules) and non-functional requirements (service-level response times, system availability) using both business and technical terminology.
Develops service mappings and design requirements with actual database constructs to guide developers in solution implementation.
Executes integrated development testing and validates QA-prepared test cases to ensure full coverage of trading and compliance scenarios.
Provides ongoing support for application development teams, translating technical concepts for business audiences and vice versa.
Participates in estimating and planning, partnering with project teams to develop schedules, status reports, risk remediation plans, defect remediation updates, and change requests.

Skills: 
The candidate will contribute to the software development lifecycle of products and services from inception stage through to the final implementation. The candidate would be required to work closely with the developers to define, build and test the solution often working on multiple projects/work-streams at the same time.

 

Responsibilities include:

Creating and maintaining business requirements (functional & technical) in partnership and collaboration with the business and obtaining sign-off Responsible for creating functional solutions, conducting FSD walk-through and obtaining sign-off Work with data sourcing to source and validate data completeness from acquisition to report delivery. Responsible for working with the developers to ensure correct understanding of requirements and then owning the functional delivery end to end Defining testing requirements together with the QA team Building and maintaining strong relationship with business to ensure alignment with business requirements and project management resources Ensure projects are completed according to product specifications and are properly documented. Work with Stakeholders during UAT to ensure reports meet requirements and ensure all deliveries are signed-off.
Technical Business Analyst Skills
Proficient in querying and analyzing data using SQL and Oracle.
Experienced in gathering requirements and trading data/account-level trade rules for compliance.
Able to document compliance rules, escalation flows, and exception handling procedures.
General understanding of regulator rules and related financial risk controls.
Skilled in writing clear, structured Business Requirements Documents (BRDs).
Capable of tracing business requirements to data models and identifying correct tables/fields to support controls, in collaboration with data teams.
Technical Testing Skills
Experience with testing frameworks, ideally for regulatory and financial control systems.
Proficient in writing and executing test cases that simulate trading scenarios (e.g., order rejections, RCL breaches, escalation workflows).
Collaborates closely with BAs and team leads to ensure requirements traceability and comprehensive test coverage.
Documents defects clearly and assists in reproducing them with meaningful data scenarios.


Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Computer Science, MIS or related degree and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant development, testing or engineering experience or combination of education, training and experience.
