Sr Mgr, Software Development

As a Senior Manager of Software Development, you'll be responsible for management of a team of software professionals who deliver customer-facing and back office software solutions. In addition, responsible for day-to-day management of software development teams in all facets of hiring, performance management and growth opportunities.

WHAT OUR SR. MANAGER OF SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENJOYS MOST
  • Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Manage a development team that operates cross-functionally with product, operations, and testing teams to ensure quality and timely delivery of code.
  • Provide team support and direction on shifting priorities for new and existing projects as well as enterprise initiatives. Organizes and delegates work as needed.
  • Implement software proposals and estimates scope of work.
  • Plans for and aligns resources for completion of work.
  • Works closely with cross functional teams on resource allocation, budget implications and timeline considerations.
  • Escalation point for internal partners to assist in resolving roadblocks and mitigating risks to ensure successful on-time software product delivery.
  • Ensures adequate documentation is created.
  • Provide input to management regarding technical issues, strategic planning of projects, system operations, and new software development and deployment.
  • Develop a collaborative culture that embodies both industry best practices and Charter values.
  • Experiment with new technologies to make sure we can scale for the future.


WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

Experience:

? Software Engineering experience - 6+ years

? Leadership experience - 3+ years

Education:

o BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, related field or equivalent work experience

Technical skills:

? Knowledge of Java, JavaScript or Python and modern software approaches and architectures

Skills:

? Knowledge of company products and services

? Attention to detail and quality with effective problem solving and communication skills

? In-depth knowledge of automation, testing, and code quality

? Experience leading teams in a Agile/Scrum environment

Abilities:

? Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

? Ability to communicate in a clear and professional manner

? Ability to take ownership and make technical decisions on software development projects

? Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks

? Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure

Travel Ability:

? Office Environment

Schedule:

? Full time

? This position is eligible to work in a hybrid work model (combination of in-office and remote days

Preferred Qualifications

Agile software development experience including leading Agile teams, familiarity with Agile ceremonies.

Experience with AWS and micro services

Previous data analytics software experience

Knowledge of WiFi and Wireless technologies, architectures and standards.

Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery

Understanding of Test Driven Development (TDD) and an automated testing mindset

Strong familiarity with software architecture patterns and their application

The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
