Job Description:

We are seeking a Lead Data Engineer to support the design, development, and delivery of modern data solutions within a highly collaborative, investment-focused technology environment. This role centers on building robust data pipelines, integrating data from multiple internal and external sources, and ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and quality of core financial datasets. The right candidate brings a strong background in data engineering, excellent SQL skills, and hands-on experience supporting data workflows in financial services or asset-management settings. You will act as a technical leader on the team, helping troubleshoot issues, answer technical questions, and guide best practices across the data engineering function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain data pipelines supporting enterprise investment data
  • Implement and support data ingestion, transformation, validation, and delivery processes
  • Contribute to strategic development work while aligning with broader platform and business objectives
  • Improve data quality, consistency, resiliency, and operational performance
  • Troubleshoot complex interactions and drive root-cause analysis across systems
  • Collaborate with platform, data, and integration architects on model design and platform evolution
  • Assist with upgrades and integration of new tools used for orchestration, transformation, and validation
  • Provide support during unexpected outages and system issues

  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of experience building and supporting complex, data-centric applications
  • 2 4 years of hands-on experience with SQL and advanced SQL techniques
  • Strong background in data integration (ETL/ELT), data warehousing, and analytics workflows
  • Experience in financial services or asset management with knowledge of financial instruments, transactions, and positions
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Understanding of Agile development, DevOps principles, and modern data engineering tools
  • Knowledge of contemporary data architectures (UDM, data mesh, real-time flows, non-relational stores, data virtualization)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams

  • Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with Snowflake or similar cloud-native data platforms
  • Ability to lead technical discussions and perform code reviews
