Job Description
The Workers Compensation Compliance Consultant will play a key role in helping clients maintain their Qualified Self-Insurance status and meet state-level compliance requirements. The consultant will work across multiple states, ensuring all reporting obligations are met accurately and on time while supporting clients with documentation, actuarial reporting, and compliance with surety bond and security requirements.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage reporting schedules for each client by entity and state.
- Request, collect, and validate payroll, hours, loss information, financial statements, and other required documents.
- Track deadlines closely and follow up with clients, TPAs, or other stakeholders to ensure compliance with strict state requirements.
- Input and update information in state web portals; guide clients on certifying or signing off on submissions.
- Maintain detailed records of activity including requests, actuarial reports, proof of payments, and compliance confirmations.
- Review surety bonds and security requirements; request updates when necessary and provide supporting information to state agencies.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience with Workers Compensation self-insurance compliance across multiple states.
- Strong knowledge of state reporting requirements and compliance processes.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Proven ability to navigate and manage data in various state web portals.
- Strong written and oral communication skills for client interaction and reporting.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
- Experience reviewing financial statements, payroll data, actuarial reports, and surety bonds.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong diary/follow-up discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior consulting experience supporting multi-client or multi-state compliance projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage reporting schedules and compliance documentation independently.
- Strong client service orientation and problem-solving mindset.
