Now Hiring for the Position of: Junior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) (100% Remote)

LHLIC is looking to recruit a qualified and experienced Junior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to take part in all aspects of the Agile Development process. This position is 100% remote!

We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our Product Delivery Services department. This position will be supporting a department consisting of cross functional Agile teams focused on developing and delivering solutions to a new platform. Extensive collaboration is required with the internal teams as well as IT Operations, Architects, external vendors, and others to support the transformation of a legacy system to a modern platform and drive the future technology needs of the company.

The successful candidate will have a DevOps mindset approach to design, build and run efficient production systems. You will write software to streamline the automation, monitoring, alerting, testing, and deployment of software to supported platform environments. The candidate will be comfortable working with AWS, Auth0, maintaining on-prem web services, and acting as first line of defense for escalated production issues.

Candidates should have:

• 2 to 3 years of professional experience as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)
• A Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field
• Experience with source control tooling such as GIT or Code Commit in a team environment
• Exposure with AWS Cloud formation stacks
• Exposure managing Kubernetes Clusters like AWS EKS
• Must have good familiarity with Linux and shell scripts
• Experience with Docker
• A strong understanding of Internet standards and protocols such as HTTP, DNS, TCP, and UDP
• Experience in working with Agile teams

Candidates would benefit from exposure to (Nice to Have)

• Familiarity working with Auth0
  • Configuration of Auth0 Tenants for applications
  • Update expired Secrets
• Python/NodeJs/Java Script experience

Candidates will be responsible for:

• Support our internal DevOps deployments to AWS EKS
• Perform and monitor deployments, implement tracing tools, and more
• Contribute to the establishment of DevSecOps presence in the Product Delivery Services department
• Maintain AWS code pipeline deployments
• Maintain On-Prem web servers
• Maintain AWS Lambda functions
• Support Escalation
  • Troubleshoot escalated Production issues by being the first line of defense

Candidates should demonstrate expertise or experience with using:

• AWS experience with
  • Lambda Functions
  • CloudFormation (or Terraform)
  • My SQL (Database content)
  • API Gateway
• Auth0
  • Configuration of Auth0 Tenants for applications
  • Update expired Secrets
• DevOps - CI/CD Responsibilities
  • Web application deployment scripts
  • Automated deployments to Dev/Test/Prod environments
