Position Description

CGI has an immediate need for a Splunk Dashboard Designer to join our team for a short-term need. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest customers. We take an innovative approach to supporting our client, working side-by-side in an agile environment using emerging technologies.

We partner with 15 of the top 20 banks globally, and our top 10 banking clients have worked with us for an average of 26 years!

This role is located at a client site in Reston, VA. A hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Splunk Dashboard Designer/Engineer to manage and optimize our Splunk environment. This role involves troubleshooting system issues, developing dashboards, tuning

performance, and integrating logs from various sources. The ideal candidate will also leverage Splunk Enterprise Security (ES) for threat detection and incident response, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights through data visualization and automation.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

Minimum of 3 5 years of hands-on experience with Splunk in an enterprise environment.

Strong experience developing custom dashboards using Splunk Designer Dashboard Studio

Strong experience with Splunk administration, including troubleshooting, indexing, and search optimization.

Proficiency in dashboard development using Splunk s visualization tools.

Expertise in performance tuning of search queries and data ingestion.

Hands-on experience with Splunk Enterprise Security (ES) for threat detection and correlation searches.

Ability to onboard and normalize logs from diverse sources (servers, cloud platforms, applications).

Solid understanding of AWS services (CloudTrail, CloudWatch, S3) and their integration with Splunk.

Python scripting skills for automation, data enrichment, and API integrations.

Familiarity with cloud architecture and security best practices.

Experience creating scheduled reports, alerts, and event types using Splunk commands.

Must hold a Splunk Certification.

Education:

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
