Responsibilities

Chief Engineer, System Engineering and Integration (SE&I). Leads systems engineering teams to design, develop, evaluate, and modify end-to-end systems projects and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle. Supports engineering synchronization across the Department of Defense strategic and theater missile defense enterprise ($1B+ program).

Leads the development of quantifiable requirements, descriptions, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics. Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods. Leads high level product development strategies for system requirement specifications and works across other engineering disciplines to drive the lower-level detailed implementation.

Manages technical problem geographically dispersed sets where travel (up to 20%) is necessary to support a 24x7x365 global operation. Provides strong leadership to achieve service level objectives agreed upon with the customer. Leads the enterprise services delivery team to understand the missile defense community and manages a broad profile of risks in a dynamic operational environment.

The chief engineer monitors and addresses performance and delivery metrics across multiple large and small business sub-contracts and government task orders with a sense of urgency. Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development. Leads teams to design interfaces and bring system elements together, so they work as a whole. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. Provides customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape customer requirements. Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts.

Qualifications

Fully adjudicated TS/SCI clearance
16+ years of experience, with demonstrated team leadership, supervisory, and/or management experience while leading the following activities, preferably in the Department of Defense and Missile Defense community:
Systems analysis, architecting, designing, developing, and maintaining various technologies needed in for missile systems or general military command and control - to include network, data center/hybrid cloud, and telecommunications infrastructure, satellite communications, and commercial 5G.
Producing, testing, and implementing systems designs and test procedures following DoD best practices.
Preparing command and control system designs, including diagrams, instructions, and costs for large-scale projects.
Troubleshooting system issues, inspecting and maintaining communications systems, and keeping detailed maintenance and training records.
Determining the strengths and weaknesses of existing systems and providing solutions on issues and concerns.
Certifications preferred:

State, national, or international certification as Systems Engineer or Professional Engineer
Current or previous Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Master degree in sytems engineering, information systems, or another engineering discipline (instead of PMP)
Must:

Live in or be willing to self-relocate to Colorado Springs, CO.
Work on the customer's site.Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
