The Position:
Position Title: SAP SOM and CI Functional Consultant
Location: Hybrid; Remote Off-Site and On-Site in Middletown, PA
Duration: 24+ Month Project
Note: Hybrid work environment is expected to be primarily remote off-site with one week per month on-site in Middletown, PA; varying with project needs. In addition to the PA ePATCH background check, PTC requires a National Criminal Background Check prior to engagement start.
We are seeking a highly skilled SAP SOM (Subscription Order Management) and CI (Convergent Invoicing) Functional Consultant to join our team assisting the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) Information Technology (IT) Department on their exciting and innovative technology project called the Unified Back Office Solution (UBOS). In this role, you will be the primary architect and configurator for our "Quote-to-Cash" processes, specifically focusing on complex subscription models and high-volume billing scenarios within the SAP BRIM (Billing Revenue Innovation Management) landscape.
As a Functional Consultant, your core focus will be translating business requirements into scalable technical configurations within the SAP environment.
SAP SOM Configuration:
- Design and configure Subscription Product Modeling, including product bundles, recurring charges, and usage-based components.
- Manage Subscription Contract Management workflows, including renewals, mid-term changes (up sells/down sells), and cancellations.
- Configure integration points between SAP CRM/S4HANA SOM and the FI-CA backend.
SAP Convergent Invoicing (CI) Configuration:
- Define and configure Billable Item Management (BITs) and Consumption Item Management (CITs).
- Design complex Billing and Invoicing processes, including selection variants, grouping variants, and invoice layouts.
- Configure Discount and Premium logic within the invoicing engine.
End-to-End Integration:
- Ensure seamless data flow between SAP Convergent Charging (CC) and CI.
- Manage the hand-off from Invoicing to Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable (FI-CA).
Solution Design & Support:
- Lead workshop sessions to gather requirements and perform gap-analysis.
- Create detailed Functional Specification Documents (FSDs) for custom enhancements.
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting for production issues related to billing cycles and contract logic.
The Skills and Experience:
- 5+ Years: SAP functional consulting experience, with a strong focus on SAP BRIM components.
- Proven hands-on experience configuring SAP SOM (Subscription Order Management) and SAP Convergent Invoicing (CI) within the SAP BRIM landscape.
- Hands-on experience integrating SAP CRM or S/4HANA SOM with FI-CA.
- Experience defining and managing Billable Items (BITs) and Consumption Items (CITs).
- Strong knowledge of data flow and integration between SAP Convergent Charging (CC) and Convergent Invoicing (CI).
- Experience collaborating with technical teams to support development, testing, and deployment activities.
