Description
We are looking for a skilled IT Systems Engineer to join our team on a contract basis in Detroit, Michigan. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing enterprise technology environments, ensuring their performance, security, and reliability. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work across systems administration, endpoint management, and technical support, collaborating with both internal teams and external vendors.
Responsibilities:
Manage and monitor installed systems, servers, and storage to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Configure, test, and maintain operating systems, enterprise applications, and virtualization platforms.
Develop and implement robust backup, disaster recovery, and redundancy strategies.
Create automation scripts to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
Administer Windows endpoints and mobile devices using Microsoft Intune, including compliance policies and application deployments.
Provide advanced technical support to resolve escalated issues and document solutions for future reference.
Collaborate with network engineers and other IT team members to address connectivity and system-related challenges.
Participate in technology upgrades, migrations, and new system implementations to support organizational goals.
Monitor system and application performance, identifying and addressing areas for improvement.
Ensure secure and standardized configurations across all devices within the organization.
Requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Enterprise, including O365 administration and Azure services.
Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft Exchange.
Skilled in virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments and SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager).
Expertise in endpoint and device management using Microsoft Intune and Autopilot.
Familiarity with mobile device platforms, particularly iOS and Android.
Understanding of cybersecurity tools and frameworks to ensure system security.
Scripting experience, with a preference for PowerShell, to support automation and efficiency.
