Job Title: Software Engineer - IDMC ETL
Location: Toronto, ON, CAN (On-Site)
Duration: 73 Days (Possible Extension)

Client: Public Healthcare Sector
Pay Rate: C$70-C$80/hr

Join our dynamic team as a Software Developer specializing in ETL processes, where you'll play a key role in modernizing and enhancing critical health services applications. This is a unique opportunity to work in Toronto, ON, a vibrant city known for its diverse culture and thriving tech industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop ETL processes using Informatica IDMC, including building mappings, workflows, sessions, and reusable components. Implement parameterization, environment configurations, scheduling, failure handling, and restartability.
  • Design and manage AWS/Redshift data ingestion and transformation processes. Create S3 landing and staging areas for data integration and implement UPSERT/MERGE logic for dimension and fact loads.
  • Configure CloudWatch dashboards and alerts for effective monitoring.
  • Design end-to-end data flow diagrams, ensuring data masking and PHI handling, and implement row/column-level security for Cognos and Redshift.
  • Develop data models, including conceptual, logical, and physical models (star/snowflake), and optimize Redshift distribution and sort keys.
  • Create detailed data mappings with business rules, transformations, lineage, data quality validations, and exception handling.
  • Provide knowledge transfer to team members, including preparing detailed guides or documentation as required.
  • Complete any additional deliverables as assigned by the Project/Resource Manager.

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience with public sector projects and familiarity with I&IT project management processes.
  • Proficiency in building Informatica IDMC ETL processes and configuring, tuning, and monitoring Amazon Redshift.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services, including S3, Athena, Lambda, Glue, Step Functions, and CloudWatch.
  • Expertise in relational database design, optimization, and security controls for sensitive data.
  • Advanced skills in SQL and PLSQL (or equivalent) for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present technical solutions to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of meeting strict deadlines and working effectively in a team environment.
