Job Details

Apple in Austin, TX has a new contract need for a Sr. Web UI/Accessibility SME. See job specs below. Candidate will be expected to relocate to Austin. TX before start date if hired.

Candidate MUST have experience in Web UI Development and a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Web Accessibility.

Someone with deep knowledge of WCAG 2.x guidelines and WAI-ARIA, and hands-on experience with VoiceOver, JAWS, NVDA, etc. Someone who would be able to review and advise on design, code, and content for accessibility compliance, and also directly remediate accessibility issues by writing and fixing code. Someone who can implement accessible solutions and fix accessibility defects.

For UI Engineering, candidates must be Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React and/or Angular.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout project lifecycles

Required Skills

  • Web Development: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React and/or Angular
  • Accessibility Standards: Deep knowledge of WCAG 2.x guidelines and WAI-ARIA
  • Assistive Technology Testing: Hands-on experience with VoiceOver, JAWS, NVDA
  • Code Remediation: Strong ability to implement accessible solutions and fix accessibility defects
  • Communication: Excellent collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience: 3+ years in web accessibility engineering
  • Someone who would able to advise (being an SME)
