Who We Are:

The Strategic Aerospace Department Office of the Director provide guidance and direction to a multi-disciplinary team of engineers that provides cutting edge engineering development services to the USAF.

Objectives of this Role:

  • Supporting full-time engineers in the following capacities: Support mechanical & electro-mechanical hardware development teams involved in developing requirements, designing, implementing, testing, and documenting.
  • Support testing of prototyped electro-mechanical systems in the avionics labs.
  • Interact directly with project team and project management to fully understand requirements and constraints of the task objectives.
  • Local student position.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Work with engineering team to develop electro-mechanical designs in SolidWorks.
  • Support MATLAB model-based design activities.
  • Design test stands and associated test software to support testing of avionics Circuit Card Assemblies.

Requirements:

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering. Must be 2 semesters away from graduating.
  • 0 years: Interpretation of mechanical pneumatic and/or hydraulic schematics.
  • Experience with CAD software to generate detailed fabrication drawings for manufacturing or fabrication.
  • Knowledge of of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software to perform structural and thermal analyses.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.
