Location: Orlando, FL (Hybrid)

Type: Direct Hire/Permanent

Travel: 20-30%

OVERVIEW

Our client is an industry-leading warehouse automation consulting and execution firm, helping clients design, build, and support today's integrated warehouse operation.

The Sr. Controls Engineer position will be responsible for developing PLC code, developing HMI screens (equipment level), and collaborating with other engineering teams and clients. The individual is required to travel and implement projects on-site, working weekdays and weekends, following the project schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead Controls Engineering Projects
  • Controls Architecture Design and Layout (ability to select components)
  • PLC Program Development and Configuration
  • HMI Program Development and Configuration (equipment level)
  • Additional Device control such as MDR Modules, VFDs, Scanners, Printers, etc.
  • Create Project I/O Lists coordinating with Electrical Engineering
  • Technical Documentation Creation
  • Testing and Validation of Project Programs
  • Project Implementation On-site coordinated with other Teams
  • Troubleshooting and Technical Support to Customers or other internal Teams
  • Maintain assigned Project Task Lists
  • Perform Projects on time and on budget


JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree in Electrical, Electronic or Controls Engineering OR 7 Years of Controls Engineering experience minimum (Degree NOT required)
  • Experience with PLC and HMI Programming Development (Rockwell, Siemens)
  • Experience with Electrical Engineering (Controls and Safety Design)
  • Experience with Communication Networks (Ethernet, Profinet)
  • Experience with Conveyor Systems, MDR, VFDs, Scanners, Scales, Printers, etc.
  • Ability to Organize and Execute Projects on time and on budget
  • Ability to Problem Solve with a Proactive Attitude
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Hands-On Teamwork and Support as Required
  • Mechanical Aptitude of Equipment Operation is Preferred
