BEPC Inc. Now hiring a PLC Controls Engineer I in Mason, OH. Position: PLC Controls Engineer I
Location: 90% Travel Nationwide | 10% Onsite in Mason, OH
Type: W2 6 month contract with possible extensions
Pay Rate: $35.00 40.00/hr. + medical, dental, vision and life insurance.
Hours: Typically 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (flexibility required based on travel/client needs)
Position Summary
BEPC Inc. is seeking a PLC Controls Engineer I to support the commissioning and testing of automated material handling systems, including high-speed sortation, scanning, and merging operations. This hands-on, travel-intensive role is ideal for early-career engineers looking to build deep expertise in industrial automation and systems integration.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in PLC programming, HMI development, and on-site system commissioning
  • Support the delivery of projects on schedule and within defined scope
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including internal engineers, vendors, and clients
  • Help generate and maintain technical documentation (QA/QC protocols, test plans, reports)
  • Participate in BUAT, UAT, FAT testing, and provide post-installation support
  • Contribute to customer training, issue resolution, and performance tuning
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline
  • 0 2 years of hands-on experience in controls engineering or automation systems
  • Familiarity or coursework involving Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMI platforms such as Wonderware or Aveva Edge
  • Interest in automated logistics, material handling, or post/parcel operations is a plus
Preferred Technical Skills
  • PLC & HMI Platforms: Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, Wonderware Aveva Edge, FactoryTalk View
  • Drives & Vision Systems: VFDs, Cognex/SICK scanners, machine vision integration
  • Software Tools: Studio 5000, RSLinx, AutoCAD Electrical, B&R Automation Studio
  • Industrial Networking: Ethernet/IP, Profibus, WCS integration
  • Additional Tools: Ignition SCADA, SOPAS, SST Profibus Config Tool, Datalogic DataMan
