Position: Database Management Specialist

Duration: 06 - Months Approx.

Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota (On-Site)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with DSS and state IT resources to gather requirements and understand existing data sources and structures
• Develop a Medicaid Interface Registry for all SD Medicaid applications
• Author Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for undocumented interfaces
• Create and implement a Medicaid Interface Management Plan
• Design data models and warehouse structures for Medicaid data (if not existing)
• Create a Data Catalog and Data Lineage for Medicaid data
• Develop a comprehensive Data Governance and Management Plan
• Analyze system-to-system interactions and data flow for reporting, integration, storage, and security
• Identify risks in current data management and propose remediation strategies
• Recommend enhancements for data governance, cataloging, and documentation tools
• Deliver monthly status reports covering completed work and timelines
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Note: Non-Medicaid interface work is strictly out of scope.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Expertise in relational SQL and NoSQL database technologies
• Experience with data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, ER/Studio)
• Strong knowledge of enterprise-level database management and design
• Proficiency in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling
• Familiarity with data catalogs, data lineage, and data governance frameworks
• Experience implementing data governance programs
• Understanding of business intelligence and reporting concepts
• Ability to write and manage Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
• UI/UX awareness as it applies to interface design
• Strong interface troubleshooting and optimization skills
• Experience in software development and interface architecture
• Certifications in control systems or related fields preferred
• Familiarity with control system software/tools (industry-specific)
• Strong project management and multi-project handling capabilities
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
• Proficiency with modern data tools and platforms

Compensation

Compensation for roles at Beacon Systems Inc depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, BeaconGov provides reasonable range of compensation for this role.
