Job Description:

Network Administrator position supporting the Army National Guard (ARNG) in Falls Church, VA. This position requires someone with a current and active Secret clearance.

This is an IT Service Management contract in support of the operation, modernization, expansion, and further evolution of the ARNG's global Information Technology (IT) services including networking, compute, storage, infrastructure, applications, hosting, and program management services. The GECOS program supports the ARNG enterprise IT infrastructure, its Wide Area Network (WAN), authentication and directory services, cybersecurity, application hosting, and associated services. GECOS uses ITIL best practices framework as the basis for IT Service Management (ITSM) model.

HOW A NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
  • Supports network services team to develop complex solutions to meet ARNG strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Utilize incident management systems to identify, respond to, and resolve network incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
  • Develops and maintains standard operating procedures.
  • Supports CORA inspections and supports ATO certification.
  • Implements and maintains DISA STIG baselines in accordance with quarterly releases.
  • Creates and defends system change requests.
  • Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
  • Develops, maintains, and implements a proactive capacity planning model to support business decisions.
  • Performs required maintenance off hours and supports 24x7 operations of a large enterprise infrastructure in accordance with established schedules and best practices.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  • Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks.
  • Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to complex problems.
  • Designs and builds hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.
  • Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
  • Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.
  • Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
  • Education: 5+ years of relevant experience as an Information Technology professional
  • Required Experience: 3+ years experience Cisco and Palo Alto Routing, Switching, IDS/IPS, and Firewall technologies
  • Required Technical Skills: Understanding of routing (BGP/OSPF), Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), IPv6, Firewall and IDS/IPS concepts, and a strong foundation of the OSI troubleshooting model
  • Required Skills and Abilities: Superb communication skills, strong ability to troubleshoot and multi-task
  • Certifications:
    • Must meet DoD IAT Level II IA baseline certification at start date;
    • Must meet DoD IAT Level II IA Computing Environment (CE) certification at state date: (ie Cisco).
  • Security Clearance Level: SECRET Clearance
  • Location: Falls Church, VA

The likely salary range for this position is $106,250 - $143,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
