Job Description:

Pay Range: $50hr - $55hr

Responsibilities:

Database Administration:
  • Deploy, configure, and administer Snowflake environments.
  • Monitor and optimize Snowflake performance, storage, and query execution.
  • Automate maintenance and administration tasks using SQL, Python, or Shell scripting.
  • Integrate Snowflake with AWS S3, Glue, Lambda, Airflow, DBT and other cloud services.
  • Manage external stages and storage integrations for seamless data movement.
  • Monitor security logs and implement audit controls for data protection.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, query performance, and connectivity issues.
  • Establish monitoring, alerts, and proactive issue resolution strategies.
  • Create, manage, and maintain Snowflake databases, warehouses, and roles.
  • Implement and enforce data governance policies and procedures.
  • Monitor database performance and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Perform regular database backups and recoveries.
  • On-call rotation duties and weekend support activities where needed.
  • Participate in CICD deployments and other planned activities where needed.
Security:
  • Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect sensitive data.
  • Manage user access controls and privileges.
  • Monitor for security threats and respond to incidents promptly.
Performance Optimization:
  • Analyze database performance and identify bottlenecks.
  • Tune database configurations to improve query performance.
  • Implement indexing strategies and data partitioning techniques.
Data Loading and Migration:
  • Develop and execute data loading and migration strategies.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy during the migration process.
Troubleshooting:
  • Diagnose and resolve database-related issues and errors.
  • Provide technical support to data analysts and engineers.
Documentation:
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database architecture, procedures, and standards.
Must Have:
  • 6+ years of proven experience as a database administrator with Snowflake.
  • 5+ years of Strong understanding of SQL and database concepts.
  • 5+ years of experience in deployments and on-call support activities.
  • 5+ years of experience in supporting and troubleshooting batch, streaming and real time data loads.
  • 4+ years of experience in Snowflake applications (big data cloud database), writing efficient queries, as well as reading and understanding the query plans and writing stored procedures and functions
  • 4+ years of experience in cloud native technologies including AWS.
