is the independent system operator responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable flow of electricity in our region and planning for the future of the electric grid. We are at the forefront of New England s ongoing transition to clean energy.

We have an important role to play in securing the region s clean and reliable energy future and seek folks from a variety of disciplines to join us! In this role you will supervise the design, development, and maintenance of the enterprise data warehouse, data marts, and BI data systems, to support business decision-making and strategic initiatives. Additionally, you will focus on driving innovation and efficiency through data-driven solutions and ensure the quality, reliability, and integrity of data processes. You will also provide expertise, including but not limited to: database design, data warehousing, project management, and Electricity Markets.

How you will make an impact:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with business goals. Maintain 24/7 support rotation schedule
  • Identify opportunities to enhance data collection, storage, and usage to drive business value.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and prioritize projects.
  • Lead a team of data engineers, analysts, and DBAs, providing technical guidance, coaching, and support.
  • Set clear objectives and performance expectations. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Maintain a high level of technical and business expertise in the group
  • Work closely with business units to understand their evolving needs and challenges in a fast-changing industry.
  • Collaborate with other IT units to integrate data systems and ensure data consistency and compatibility.
  • Prioritize project work based on business impact and strategic objectives.
  • Manage projects related to data engineering and business intelligence initiatives. Define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Monitor progress, manage resources, and mitigate risks to ensure successful project completion.

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Master s degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or data science
  • 3+ years of experience supervising technical staff
  • 5+ years of experience programming in SQL, Python or DBT specializing in ETL
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of relational databases including Oracle, PostGres, and Redshift
  • Understanding of data integration, data warehousing, and data mart design
  • Exposure to AWS DevOps a plus
  • Electricity Markets, including Day-Ahead, Real-Time, FTR, ARR, and Markets Monitoring preferred
