Posting Title: Senior Natural Developer Position Summary / Description

  • Seeking a Senior Natural/ADABAS Developer for development and support.

  • Role supports, enhances, and maintains statewide SNAP/TANF Eligibility Determination system.

  • Enhancements include integrating latest technologies for interfacing with other platforms and automating existing processes.

  • On-call support is required.

Required Technical Skills & Experience (Minimum)

  1. Enterprise system programming in NATURAL and COBOL batch using ADABAS on Linux.

    • Includes troubleshooting complex SNAP/TANF eligibility systems using Natural One IDE and MicroFocus COBOL.

    • Experience Required: 10+ years

  2. Analysis, design, and programming of large/complex projects on large-scale IBM Mainframe/Linux systems.

    • Experience Required: 6+ years

  3. Experience with automated eligibility determination systems, specifically:

    • SNAP & TANF Eligibility

    • SNAP E&T

    • Benefits / Benefit Recovery

    • Experience Required: 6+ years

Required Business / Functional Skills

  1. Ability to provide recommendations for system/process enhancements - 6 years

  2. Experience developing, maintaining, updating documentation for procedures/policies/processes - 6 years

  3. Knowledge of SNAP/TANF eligibility and economic assistance policies, including state/federal mandates similar to MAVS - 6 years

  4. Experience interpreting, designing, and implementing state/federal mandates in Linux systems like MAVS - 6 years

Preferred / Not Required (Nice-to-Have)

  • Strong English verbal & written communication

  • Strong troubleshooting skills; comfortable with on-call work

  • Ability to work independently and within a team

  • Creative problem-solving ability

  • SCRUM / Iteration experience

  • Jira Software experience

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
