Position: Product Owner

Location: Louisville, KY

Estimated Duration: The client approximates that this project will be a 12+ months. However, there is no guarantee of employment for any length of time.

Pay Rate Range: $44.50-46/hr. (paid weekly on W2)

Position Summary: You will serve as a Product Owner within our Agile/SAFe environment, focusing on backlog management, workflow design, and stakeholder alignment. The role is critical to ensuring continuity in our enrollment domain and supporting the scaling of our Appian program.

Day to Day Responsibilities/typical day look like:
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog in alignment with business needs
  • Translate business requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Collaborate closely with developers, architects, and testers to drive delivery
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and PI planning
  • Ensure traceability from business requirements through to test cases and demos
  • Support UAT and formally accept stories once criteria are met
  • The Product Owner monitors performance and recommends schedule changes, cost adjustments or resource additions.
  • Investigates facts and develops solutions to problems during the design and planning phases.
  • Provides timely and accurate information and status updates to functional leaders.
  • May be responsible for feasibility studies, field trials management, identifying product gaps, defining product requirements and engaging with customers to understand market needs and trends.
  • Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
  • Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed.
  • Follows established guidelines/procedures


Requirements:
  • 3+ years of technical experience
  • 5+ years of leadership and/or project management experience
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
  • Proven Product Owner experience in Agile/SAFe environments
  • Hands-on Appian expertise (workflow design, backlog management, UAT)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience in large, complex, and regulated environments-ideally healthcare or enrollment workflows
