Position: Security Engineer

Location: Remote(During Contract period) then onsite

Hiring Mode: 6 Months Contract to Hire

Note: Remote During Contract. Once converted, must be willing to be onsite 5 days a week in offices located in either Las Vegas, NV; Reno, NV; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; Omaha, NE; Des Moines, IA; Sioux City, IA; or Richmond, VA

Job Description:

Responsible for configuring and managing Microsoft Purview and SharePoint Advanced Management to implement data protection controls, minimize data exposure risks related to Microsoft Copilot, and support regulatory compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure Microsoft Purview to enforce data protection and compliance controls based on business and regulatory requirements.
• Utilize SharePoint Advanced Management for enhanced security and access management.
• Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to understand requirements and educate on available controls and data protection strategies.
• Support and enhance existing e-discovery, email retention, encryption, and data loss prevention policies.
• Assist in the development and rollout of a comprehensive data protection program, including stakeholder engagement and training.

Required Skills:

• Deep expertise in Microsoft Purview configuration and administration.
• Experience with SharePoint Advanced Management (SAM).
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and education.
• Understanding of data protection, data sovereignty, PII, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., SOX, NERC CIP, ISO).
• Familiarity with M365 environment and security best practices.

• The role is critical to enabling safe adoption of Microsoft Copilot and ensuring business value while minimizing risk.
• Involvement with regulatory and audit groups is expected.
